Shawncraft reviews: a “small family-owned business” in Hong Kong

A Facebook ad, a t-shirt at a reasonable price, and a homepage that displays a single sentence in capitals: “THANK YOU FOR SHOPPING AT OUR SMALL FAMILY-OWNED BUSINESS ♥ CURRENT ORDER PROCESSING TIME: 2-6 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR TO SHIPPING”. That banner was still on shawncraft.com on 24 September 2026, more than two years after the first buyers began complaining.

The only company name you will find on the site is not American. It sits at the bottom of the Contact page: HK WEIYAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, in an industrial building in Kwun Tong, Hong Kong.

Between the family-business story and the company information on the site, there is a contradiction that four buyers describe the same way: parcels shipped from China, a return address in China, and a shop that stops answering once it has been paid.

The founding story left the site

The About page today is short and vague. It calls Shawncraft “a popular fashion brand” and does not name a country, a city, a team, or a founder.

The original version said something else. Our ScamWatcher report, filed on 26 August 2024, archived a copy of the text that has since disappeared: “My name is shawn and I’m a wife, mama of four boys, and business owner… team of 12 employees between nap time, school drop-off”. That is the family-business story the banner still refers to.

To be clear: a small brand can grow and rewrite its About page, and a shop can be run from Hong Kong without doing anything wrong. What matters here is the contradiction buyers encountered. They were sold a family business, and when they received any response at all, it came from an address on the other side of the world.

What buyers report

Four buyer comments are still online under our report on shawncraft.com, and they converge on the same points.

First, when you visit shawncraft.com you get the story about a Texas housewife and her small business? (…) Trying to return? They’ll send you an address in China, tell you your responsible for paying shipping and good luck. They’re not an American company. They are middlemen for China.

Definitely is NOT A SMALL FAMILY OWNED business. They said 2-6 days for shipping but I ordered on November 26 and received my shirts on December 29!!!!! No response to several queries in between and the tracking system was the worst I have ever seen. The shipping was from China.

John’s account is the one to keep in mind, because it illustrates the pattern in full: a parcel sent at the end of December, no reply in between, and a delay that bears no relation to the 2-6 business days advertised in the site’s banner.

A Hong Kong company behind a UK-facing shop

The Contact page identifies the company as follows:

No company registration number appears next to it, on that page or anywhere else on the site. We could not confirm a Hong Kong registration for a company with that name at that address.

The rest of the legal documentation does not read like that of a Hong Kong merchant either. The terms and conditions state that the agreement is “governed by and construed in accordance with the Law of UK”, and the refund policy cites the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The shop runs on Shopline Inc. One template line still mentions “products we produce at fairyoung”, a name unrelated to this brand.

An older version of the legal block, archived in our report, listed company number 15222315. That number belongs to WISTERIA TRADE LIMITED, a different UK company, and has appeared on other shops with the same pattern. We are not treating it as Shawncraft’s registration.

Finally, the domain itself was registered on 8 January 2024 through Alibaba Cloud, with nameservers at alidns.com. That makes the shop roughly two and a half years old, but it does not establish a connection to the American family business of the banner.

Red flags at a glance

🔴 A “small family-owned business” banner displayed above a Hong Kong company address, with the original family story removed from the site after the complaints.
🔴 Dispatch times that contradict each other: 2-6 business days in the banner, 2-7 business days in the shipping policy, and “Arrives in 12-15 business days” on the product pages.
🔴 Return periods that also contradict each other: 14 days in the refund policy and 30 days on the product page.
🔴 The site does not declare a shipping country on any page, while buyers report that their parcels were sent from China.
🟠 Prices displayed in several currencies (USD, GBP, EUR) while the checkout processes payments in USD.
🟠 ScamAdviser gives the shop a score of 1 out of 100 and labels it “very likely unsafe”. Its report also marks the site’s content as “copied”.
🟠 Trustpilot’s own profile for the shop lists its contact information in China, and notes that the company has not replied to negative reviews.

On Trustpilot, the shop holds 4.5 out of 5 across 1,164 reviews, and many buyers are happy with their t-shirts. That does not resolve the other concerns raised in this report. One review left on 24 September 2026, the day we checked, describes a negative customer experience: “Had a terrible experience (…) (website said 2-6 business days for dispatch) (…) Don’t use them, their customer service is appalling.”

The same contrast between positive reviews and complaints also appears outside our platforms. A Reddit thread on r/InstagramShops, started in January 2025, contains a similar complaint: “I just ordered from them and my shirt shipped from China… Pretty sure they are fake Comfort Colors shirts as well. Totally scammy website.” Another comment in the thread raises the same discrepancy this article documents: the site claims to be a small family business, and the address printed on it is an office building in Hong Kong.

What to do if you ordered from Shawncraft

1. Contact the shop in writing and keep a copy of your message. Ask for a delivery date and, if the parcel has not moved, ask for a refund. The address on the Contact page is service@shawncraft.com, and the company is HK WEIYAN TECHNOLOGY LIMITED.
2. If you paid by card and no parcel arrives, ask your bank about a chargeback before the deadline runs out. Keep the order confirmation, the tracking page and your emails.
3. Report the shop on ScamWatcher and on ScamDoc, so the next buyer searching the name sees your experience, not just the banner.
4. Add your own account to the existing report. What is missing there is not a judgement but dates: what you ordered, when you paid, what you were promised, and what you actually received.
